ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

Location and surf conditions:

Our Surfhouse is located in Somo, a very small town in Cantabria-Spain. The seaside resort of Somo is characterized by the largest stretch of sand in the whole of Cantabria. With small/medium waves the spot is excellent for beginners and medium riders. The SURF HOUSE is 8-10 minutes walking from the 7 km beach of Somo, with its incredible beach breaks.The beach has several infrastructures and services such as showers, a car park and a lifeguard. It also offers lovely views of the Magdalena Palace and the whole town of Santander. We also organize surftrips to the close famous  spots like El Brusco,  Suances, Laredo and  Liencres  where we can find different  type of waves.  The surfhouses is opened from march to October. We really like to organize dinners,  barbecue, sangria parties and trips (with ferry) to Santander to enjoy the night life of this amazing city.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Accommodation types:

The SURF HOUSE is only 8-10 minutes walking distance from the 7 km long beach of Somo, with its incredible beach breaks.

The house offers you: 
5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 livingroom and 1 garden.

Breakfast is included. The surfhouse has wifi connection, tv and a dance area. We also organize dinner with all the surfers. 
In Somo you can get on a ferryboat that will connect you easily to the nightlife of Santander.

Close to the main spot there are others famous  breaks like El Brusco,  Suances, Laredo and  Liencres  where we can find different  type of waves. Somo has many ideal and different places for surfing with a world of options to discover: cliffs, wild dunes, sanby beaches ecc..  This variety means a diverse range of quality wave formations for all kinds of surfer .

In July and August the surf spots are quite busy.  If you want to surf with less people but good conditions the periods from March to June and September to October are perfects!!

Ways to get to the camp

FROM THE AIRPORT:

Taxi - tell the driver : Somo, Calle Cayuso 33, next to Posada Cuadrante. Price approx: 30 Euro.

Bus - direction CENTRO SANTANDER, till ESTACION MARITIMA stop. Over there catch the ferryboat till Somo (about 20 minutes and 2 Euro).
Once in Somo, follow the main road for about 200 meters. Once at the main roundabout catch the Cayuso Road and follow it for about 3 minutes walking. WE ARE NOT ON THE MAIN ROAD.

By car - direction Bilbao, SOMO exit after a tunnel. After approx 20 km you will arrive in Somo. Over there follow the main road and at the roundabout turn right in Calle Cayuso, direction POSADA CUADRANTE. After 300 meters you will find the SURFtoLIVE HOUSE (n.33).
WE ARE NOT ON THE MAIN ROAD.

Transfer: we also organize pick up at the airport for 30 Euro each way. Specify in the request.

FROM BILBAO or OVIEDO:
Direction Santander, Somo exit.
After approx 20 km you will arrive in Somo. Over there follow the main road and at the roundabout turn right in Calle Cayuso, direction POSADA CUADRANTE. After 300 meters you will find the SURFtoLIVE HOUSE (n.33).
